Shipping and handling costs are the main detriment to e-commerce. Shipping costs are most often given as the number one reason people decide NOT to make a purchase on-line (not knowing if the company can be trusted is the second most common answer).

The problem is that everything bought on-line has a shipping cost attached, there is no such thing as free shipping, somebody pays it!

Also, everything shipped has handling costs that have to be covered also, nothing is packaged for shipping for free. These costs include boxes, peanuts, bubble wrap, tape, labels, printing, and labor. These costs can become significant also, quality boxes aren't cheap.

These facts in conjunction with our obsession for doing all we can to make sure people enjoy their experience with us are the driving forces behind development of our shipping policy (all our policies for that matter!).   We have updated our website to include the new shopping cart mostly so that shipping costs can be calculated as close to actual as possible.  We are all tired of feeling like we got shafted by exhorbitant shipping costs.

Therefore, you will choose your shipping carrier and method when you check out and the price for shipping you pay is calculated at the carrier's site, away from Bayou Style.

Louisiana Sales Tax: Sorry Louisiana residents, but the law makes us do this.   Any order shipped inside Louisiana will be charged 4% state sales tax.  That's one system we can't buck.

Mail Orders: We do accept email orders if you want to pay with a check or money order.  Please email your order and we will let you know the amount of your order. Then you can mail us a check or money order. When your check or money order clears the bank, we will ship your order.
